My last shopping trip at Raine Brentwood landed me too many sweaters and dark denim that I can’t wait to wear for the cooler weather! With Tennessee weather, it can be 20 degrees in the morning and 80 in the afternoon so layers are a must! As the weather gets colder, I tend to just keep adding layers so I’m stocking up now.
To start my layering for the cooler weather, I always start with a good pair of denim. This pair of Articles of Society denim is from Raine Brentwood and is my favorite pair of dark skinny jeans because they fit into tall boots and accent whatever top you are wearing due to the dark hue.
For Accessories, I added my favorite comfy booties that are currently 40% off! I picked these up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale last year and can’t stop wearing them because they are so comfy. These booties also have the cutest side slit that is on trend this year. As a purse, I added the Live Fashionable Tote that I’ve owned for several years and is still in amazing shape. I love supporting their company as all of their products are made by women to support women!
Now for the good stuff: fall florals! I saw this top hanging in Raine Brentwood and once trying it on knew it would be the perfect layering top! I love that it has enough detailing to wear it on its own, but has a small collar and longer back that will show through with sweaters on top.
the Layered look!
To keep a little warmer on a cool morning or night, I threw on this off the shoulder sweater! For even colder weather, I would add one more layer, a winter coat. Adding a coat would keep me plenty warm in the cold months here in Tennessee, but can be taken off. This burgundy sweater pulls out the deep colors in the floral top and compliments my tote and shoes so well. When layering a look, I always look for a solid sweater that has some loose threading to show the floral print underneath.

It’s similar in N. California. Cold in the am and can be 80 in the afternoon. Light layers are a great way to dress for this time of year. Love that floral top and the burgundy cardi is soo pretty!!!
